Park Royal, a congregation within The United Church of Canada, is a Christian community of faith that seeks to:
Learn more about our faith in Jesus Christ and how God's love brings purpose and meaning to life.
Provide opportunities for meaningful worship, prayer, and spiritual growthin an environment of Christian fellowship and compassionate support.
Affirm the gifts we offer to God and to our community in Christian love, as we recognize that each person has the potential to contribute to the life of the congregation.
Reach out with love and caring to individuals, groups, and community, following the example of Jesus Christ.
WHO WE ARE
The people of Park Royal United Church continue to be blessed with strong leadership from its ministry personnel and active volunteers. As a church family they put much value on Worship, Music, Christian Education, Pastoral Care, and Christian Outreach. The congregation continues to grow in the knowledge of the Christian faith that is a basis of a daily life that is modelled of the mind of Jesus Christ.
Goverence of the congregation is provided under a traditional structure with an elected Official Board, Session, Stewards, and Trustees. A Ministry and Personnel Committee has close laison with staff that presently includes an ordained minister, Congregational Designated Minister, Director of Music, Secretary, a full and a part time custodian.
WHAT WE ARE
Park Royal is a congregation (Pastoral Charge) of The United Church of Canada located in eastern Charlottetown, PE. It was established in 1958 as a suburban church to serve the communities of Parkdale,Sherwood (then Central Royalty), East Royalty, and the present Stratford area. As one of three United Churches in the greater Charlottetown area, Park Royal now provides a faith community for an even larger geographical distance. Recent statistics indicate it serves 530 families with 474 resident church members and a large number of adherents.
